Amigurumis

Over time you may realize that i have a thing for crocheting amigurumis. When I first started making them I didn't read the directions. More like the material list. I always used a size I-9 crochet hook because I didn't like the feel of smaller sized crochet hooks. Another thing I did is I used black yarn for eyes instead of safety eyes ( although there is nothing wrong with using yarn instead). Then when I found some buttons that looked like safety eyes, they weren't. But once I started using the right sized crochet hook and using actual safety eyes the amigurumis looked neater and cleaner.

As you can see these two have a lot of large holes and non- safety eye eyes.
For this one I followed all the directions but I didn't know what safety eyes were then.

And for these two I followed everything in the pattern and used real safety eyes. As you can see there is a better finished product when you follow your instructions.
Tips:
  •  To keep track of where your rows or rounds start and end I always put a stitch marker in my chained stitch. If you don't own any stitch markers you can always use a piece of yarn thats a contrasting color.
  • Make sure your sitting somewhere comfortable, maybe play some nice music.
  • I use a fingerless stitching glove to help keep my hand from getting sore.
  • Keep all your tools nearby and accessible.
  • Put some lotion on your hands so that you can crochet or knit and let the yarn glide through your fingers.
  • Make sure that the temperature in the room isn't too hot or too cold
If anyone has anything that they have designed anything and would like to share or questions send me a message or photo through ravelry.

Crochet Cupcakes

I have just taken the photos of my new finished project. This cupcake was a present I made for mothers day.

I was inspired to make this cute cupcake from making little tea cups from a pattern I found online.
Leave me a comment below and tell me what you think. Patterns are fun to create so I encourage that many people try and create their own crochet or knitted patterns.
I think ill share a story while its fresh in my mind. This has nothing to do with the crochet cupcake. A few months ago I was and still am working on this knitted striped travel blanket. I was carrying this blanket across the street when I dropped my black ball of yarn under a parked car. I ended up with my project on one end and my yarn ball on the other side of this strangers car. After much struggle I gave up and decided to  snip the yarn and rejoin it later. After this event I bought a little container from Jo-Annes Fabric that keeps my yarn safe and clean, and lets me use the yarn at the same time. Never again will I leave the house with a project outside of a bag.

Welcome

Welcome to my crochet blog. On this blog I will share my past experiences and finished projects or projects to be worked on. No I am not famous for my crochet . . . yet. Many people are amazed by my creations. Do note that almost all of my projects have been made from patterns, and that I have recently only created one pattern of my own. People are even more amazed at my first personal creation. Once I get it back from my parents I will post pictures. I plan to create more of my own crochet patterns. So you'll also see those here too. Tomorrow afternoon I will post those pictures.
